So, last year, when the All Star Game was in New York, I bought a Mets book prior to the Fan Fest thinking I would get a few Mets to sign it since there would be many appearances. The book is called Mets Illustrated History by Matt Silverman - nice looking book. I got about 13 autographs in the book at the time....but I also caught the autographs bug. So, now, a year later, I am up to 47 autographs and just sent the book off to the Nolan Ryan Foundation. It's getting battered, but been an exciting challenge that I am sure you can relate to. I'm just looking for players featured in the book either by photograph or some anecdote. But....plenty to go. Would love to pick your brain some time regarding the more elusive players and share war stories. I've had some disappointing misses, but also a bunch of pleasant surprises.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14453303609155205783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2832348202100696949.post-24786870067878429232014-08-25T22:04:44.186-04:002014-08-25T22:04:44.186-04:00Sorry if this made it look like the post was made ...Sorry if this made it look like the post was made the day of the return. I sent my request to the foundation on April 8th. Then got the signed card back on August 13th. I am pursuing a similar but far less ambitious autograph project, and actually sent something to Mr. Ryan at the Foundation last week. Not worried about success or failure, but I am curious how your card came back in four days? I am expecting months though of course I'd prefer a quicker turnaround....Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14453303609155205783noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2832348202100696949.post-67336290535083974602014-08-17T14:16:34.115-04:002014-08-17T14:16:34.115-04:00Awesome get!
