Jose Cardenal became a New York Met when his contract was purchased from the Philadelphia Phillies on August 2, 1979. He appeared in 37 games for the Mets before he was released on August 13, 1980. One of my favorite things about this set was the fun of finding and selecting the photographs to be used. This is one of my favorites. Jose has the same size hair as I did in 1979. I also had one of those immensely cool satin look Mets jackets that he is wearing. Ok, this does date us both I guess.
