#28) AL JACKSON

An original New York Met drafted from the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1961 Expansion Draft. Al Jackson was a starter for the first four seasons. His 43 career Mets wins were a franchise record until Tom Seaver passed the mark in 1969. Jackson was traded with Charley Smith to the St. Louis Cardinals for Ken Boyer on October 20, 1965. Only to return to New York following the 1967 season in a trade for Jack Lamabe. Al was part of the 1969 "Miracle Mets" team, but was sold to the Cincinnati Reds in June and therefore not with the club to end the season. Jackson now serves as a pitching coordinator with the New York Mets minor league system.

Al Jackson signed this card from a mail request sent to his home address on December 22, 2008.
